Yvonne Whitt

Yvonne Davis Whitt 74 went home to be with the Lord Friday, August 27, 2010 following an extended illness. Ms. Whitt was born in Logan, West Virginia to the late Georgia Blevins Ellis and Floyd Lovings. She moved to Alamance County in the early 70's, fortunately for many of us she decided to make it her home. Yvonne worked at Aramark Food Services in Elon University for several years. Yvonne is survived by a special daughter, Ellen Carter and husband Lewis of Elon, Granddaughters, JoEllen Thompson and Husband Roger, and Tamara Carter. She has two very special sisters Daisy Murph and Margaret Broadway and a special Nephew Donald Broadway; She also has many other family members in the Logan West Virginia area. Yvonne was preceded in death by a son, Danny Lee Damron; parents, and a special sister, Crystal Lee Sutton. A funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Norman Fargis officiating. The family will receive friends 2:30-3:45 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday. The burial will take place in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill West Virginia on Wednesday, September 1, 2010.
