Winston McBane

Winston Mebane McBane, 87, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Hospice Home surrounded by his family. He was born on May 21, 1929 in Alamance County to the late Albert Peale McBane and Katy Payne McBane.

Winston retired after 21 years with the Department of Transportation.

Survivors include his sons, Albert Wayne McBane, Gene Arnold McBane and wife, Lizabeth; daughters, Katie Fields, Debra Duggins and husband, Ron; nine grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, thirteen great great grandchildren and a sister, Margaret Foster.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jeremy Dale McBane; granddaughter, Chrystal Duggins Shepard; brother, Albert Daniel McBane; son-in-law, Ernest Bo Fields; and his former wife, Elizabeth Foust McBane.

The funeral service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church by Rev. Boyd Pickard and Rev. Darrell Kidd with the burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm Tuesday prior to the service at the church and other times at the daughter, Katie's home in Graham.
