BURLINGTON Mrs. Winifred Marie Knight Hyndshaw, age 89, of 1509 Von Bora Ct., died Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a few months of failing health. Born in Cincinnati, OH, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Knight and the late Emma Houser Knight and was married to the late Albert Yeisley Hyndshaw, Jr., who died in 2002. She later resided in Tyrone, PA where she was employed with the Grier School for Girls, was involved with the Girl Scouts for over 10 years, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Once moving to Burlington she was a very active member of Macedonia Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mrs. Hyndshaw is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Boykin and her husband, Thomas, of Apex, NC; two sons, Albert Y. Hyndshaw, III and his wife, Mary Elizabeth, of Greenville, SC and William K. Hyndshaw and his wife, Carol, of Burlington; five grandchildren, Jennifer Robbins, Amanda Matthews, Sara Neal, Emily Howard and Susan Conklin; and five great grandchildren, Brittany Robbins, Mary Robbins, Benjamin Neal, Nathanael Neal and Avery Howard. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a sister, Virginia Naylor. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Foley Chapel at Twin Lakes by Rev. Stephen C. Rust. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Macedonia Evangelical Lutheran Church, 421 W. Front St., Burlington, NC 27215 or to the Twin Lakes Auxillary, 3701 Wade Coble Dr., Burlington, NC 27215.
