Willie Shockley

Willie Andrew Shockley, age 90, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several months of failing health. An avid NASCAR fan, he was born in Asheboro on September 29, 1927 to the late William Adolphus Shockley and the late Fannie Mae Jones Shockley. Willie was a very hard working man and retired from Burlington Industries with over 35 years of service. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and served as President of the Burlington Chapter for the Deaf for 4 years. Willie was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather and was cherished and adored by everyone. Mr. Shockley is survived by his three daughters, Debbie (Suzette) Wilberger, Sue Shockley and Teresa (Bill) Edwards; his son, Jimi (Angela) Shockley; 14 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Jerry Shockley. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 6, 2018 at Riverside Baptist Church by Rev. Bob Stephenson. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
