Willie Gooch

Burlington - Willie Kenneth "Buddy" Gooch, 71, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016, Veterans Day, at VA Medical Center in Durham. He was born in Rockingham County to the late Will and Mary Elizabeth Gooch and was married to Glenda Gooch, who survives. He loved to hunt, fish and play golf. Buddy was the owner and operator of Gooch Drywall for several years and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda; children, Kenny (Shannon) Gooch, Sheri (Bryan) Douglas, John Capps (Donna Huff) and Jenny (Chris) Dellinger; grandchildren, Seth, Ava, Allie, Leah and Lily; sister, Ann Sykes and brothers, Robert (JoAnn) Gooch and Donnie Gooch. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul Gooch.
The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Norman Fargis. The family will receive friends from 2:45-3:45 Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
