Burlington- William Lawson "W.L." Williams, 79, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born January 5, 1936 to the late Bennie Ruffin and Martha Ann Robertson Williams and was the husband of 56 years to Shirley Ann Smith Williams of the home. W.L. was a member of Landmark Baptist Church for 55 years and retired from Southeastern Industries after 43 years of service. He was well liked and was a friend to many. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Shirley Williams of the home; daughter, Leanne Toney of Burlington; sons, Timothy Dale Williams of Burlington and Terry Robin Williams of Statesville; grandchildren, Rae-Lynn Reinbolt, Shawn Adam Williams, Sr., Jennifer Williams Phillips, Jessie Wayne Barnes, Laura Marie Barnes, Jason Curtis Ayers, Tiffany Danielle Burns and Cassidy Williams; twelve great grandchildren; sister, Beatrice Marie Janey and husband Larry; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Barnes; brother-in-law, J.C. Smith and wife Ann; two special nieces, Angela Laxton and husband Gary and Amy Handy and husband Donald and three special nephews, Bennie Clifford Williams and wife Lisa, Sammy Williams and wife Romona and Andy Williams and wife Donna. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Raymond Curtis Barnes and brothers, Bennie Cummings Williams and Joseph Walker. A service to celebrate his life will be held 11:00am on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mark Wilson and Rev. Larry Janey. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
