William Twomey

Mr. William F. "Bill" Twomey, age 82, of Burlington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 17, 2018 after several months of failing health.
Born in Yonkers, NY, he was the son of the late John Joseph Twomey and the late Pauline Kuchenmeister Twomey and was married for over 61 years to Mrs. Anita Porgie Twomey, who survives. Bill was employed as the Director of Management Services for Ciba-Geigy Corporation for over 36 years and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed playing golf with a group of his co-workers and coached little league baseball. He attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Mr. Twomey is survived by his loving wife of the home; four sons, William J. "Bill" Twomey and wife, Lisa, of Raleigh, Robert J. "Bob" Twomey and wife, Susan, of Cincinnati, OH, Richard J. "Rick" Twomey of Raleigh and John J. Twomey of Gibsonville; six grandchildren, Megan, Kristin, Amanda, Zachary, Joshua and Jack; and four siblings, John J. Twomey, Janet Villasenor, Carolyn Valerio and Edward Twomey.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 26, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Father Paul Lininger O.F.M., Conv. The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM Sunday afternoon at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the residence.
