William "Bill" Dale Tressler, age 69 went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at his home. He was the husband of 34 years to Vickie Lou Tressler who survives. Bill spent over 16 years in the US Army, 1st Calvary Engineers serving 2 tours in Vietnam with the rank of Sergeant. He also spent many years as a long haul truck driver. Bill attended Glen Hope Baptist Church along with his family. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time outdoors. Bill was a skillful billiards player and he enjoyed bowling and was also known for his unique softball pitching style. Bill loved his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Victoria "Vickie" Lou Fisher Tressler of the home; daughters, Amanda Koontz and husband, Chad of Winston-Salem, Alicia LaPinta and husband, Matthew of Michigan; sons, Jason Fisher and wife, Michele of Mebane, Matthew Fisher and wife, Kelly of Erie, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Tyler Tressler, Mercedes Fisher, Jaiden Fisher, Carolyn Fisher, Rachel Fisher, Justyn Fisher, Jason Fisher, Tanya Luce, Joshua Dennis and Michael Minor, Jr.; sisters, Evelyn Tressler, Alice Balli and Debbie Chamberlain all of Arlington, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale Tressler and Edna Goodwill Tressler Chamberlain . A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 3:00pm at Glen Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Larry Redding. The US Army will provide honors at the memorial service.
