William Strain

William "Bill" Crowley Strain, 78, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 17, 1938 in El Paso, TX to the late Louis Alonzo Strain and Mary Crowley Strain and was the husband to Christina "Chris" Hellrung Lampe-Strain of 18 years who survives.

Bill retired after 35 years with AT&T. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, a US Navy veteran and an avid golfer.

Survivors other than his wife, Chris Lampe-Strain include his daughters, Michele Taylor and husband, Jeremy, Holly Strain and Beverley Strain; sons, Patrick Strain and wife, Melanie, Brian Lampe and wife, Stacy, Michael Lampe and wife, Brooke; grandsons, Bailey, Bradley and Ben Lampe, Ethan and Harrison Strain; sister, Helen Geisler and husband, Jerry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and mother of his children, Janice Burgess Strain; sisters, Geraldine "Jerry" Fraher and Louise Knaut.

The Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 am Friday, March 10, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Father Paul Lininger, OFM, with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 10:45 am Friday at the church prior to the service and other times at the home.
