William Scott

William Lee Billy Scott, age 65, of 2289 Lee Dr., passed away at 1:20 AM Tuesday August 21, 2007 in Moore County Regional Medical Center. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Clennie Wilson and Vendetta Jayne Lee Byrd Scott and husband of the late Nancy Funderburk Scott. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a former beach music entertainer at Carolina Beach and Atlanta, GA for over ten years and former owner of Burlington Paving Co. Survivors include his son William Lee Billy Scott, Jr. of Graham; grandson, Tristan Scott of Graham; sister, Tina Rainey and husband Wilkie of the home; brothers, David Byrd and wife June of Burlington and Wilson Scott and wife Janice of Burlington; sister in law, Jean Beverly Byrd of Gretna, VA and his favorite niece, Simone Riley of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother Roger Byrd. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday August 22, 2007 at Pine Hill Cemetery by Rev. Howard Thompson.
