William Murrell

Mr. William Taylor "Bill" Murrell, 81, went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 4, 2014 at Peak Resources in Graham. A native of Rockingham County, Bill grew up in Gibsonville where he graduated from Gibsonville School in 1950. He attended Elon University for 2 years before moving to California to obtain his BA degree at Mt. Sac. Bill was a US Air Force veteran and a member of Apple's Chapel Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Delores "Dee" Murrell; son, Steven Murrell and wife Pam; daughter, Jennifer Allen and husband, Darren; grandchildren, Samantha Murrell, Thomas, Jessica and Julia Bloomfield, Rene, Destiny, Edward, Gina, Nick and Nicole and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Delbert Ruben Murrell; mother, Frances Cummings Murrell; sister, Ruby Donnelly and daughter, Robin Martinez. A memorial service will be held 7:00pm Tuesday at Apple's Chapel Christian Church by Pastor Dave Johnson and Pastor C. Allen Myers III. The family will receive friends from 6 to 6:45pm prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
