William Milles

William Bill Duward Miles, 82,of 917 Washington St. died November 17, 2005 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was married to Lula Cook Miles for 39 years and was the son of the late William Jesse and Sue Bramble Miles. A native of Wilmington, NC, he was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Mebane and a member of the American Legion Post # 63. He was a U.S. Army veteran surviving the attack on Pearl Harbor, and later served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Lula Cook Miles of the home; sons, Brad Miles and wife Debbie Whited and Kenneth Miles both of Burlington; daughters, Sharon Owens and husband George of High Point, Linda Phillips and husband Danny of Lexington, seven granddaughters, and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother and a sister. The funeral service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, November 20, 2005 at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Willard Janey and Rev. Carlton Wilson. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 PM Saturday.
