BURLINGTON William S. "Bill" "Josh" Lemons, 77, formerly of Rainbow Ave., passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at White Oak Manor after a critical illness of six months. He was the husband of the late Margaret Ellington Lemons, who died in 2000, and the son of the late Joseph Chandler and Eurie Epsie Harris Lemons. He was a native of Chatham County, served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Lucent Technologies. Bill was a member of Davis St. United Methodist Church where he had served as an usher and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Survivors include his daughters, Diane Cockman and her husband Rick of Graham, Sandra Smith of Burlington; two grandchildren, Samantha Smith Stollings, Matthew Cockman, Christopher Cockman; two great grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Bright of Mebane; and a brother Sam Willis Lemons of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; a sister, Audrey Chambers; brothers, Joseph Edwin Lemons and June W. Lemons. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Davis St. United Methodist Church by Dr. L. Alan Sasser. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the home of his daughter, Diane Cockman, 1015 Camelot Lane, Graham.
