William Latta, Jr.

William Martin Latta, Jr., 70, of 632 Country Club Dr., died Friday, July 21, 2006 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a short illness. A native of New Hanover County, he was the son of the late William Martin Latta, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Harding Latta and was married to Katherine Griswold Katie" Latta, who survives. Mr. Latta was retired from Burlington Industries and was an U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter and was the Flotilla Commander for the Burlington Flotilla of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and was a volunteer for Alamance Regional Medical Center. Mr. Latta is survived by his wife of the home; a daughter, Virginia Latta Wright and her husband, Jason, of Chantilly, VA; a son, Glenn Shephard Latta and his wife, Karen, of Melbourne, FL; six grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth Latta Hill of Wilmington.
