William Robert Lamm, 81, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015 at his home after four months of failing health. He was born in Johnston County, NC to the late Preston Finley Lamm and the late Nora Lee Worrells Lamm and was the husband to Mae Barber Lamm of 60 years who survives. William retired from Glen Raven Mills after 46 years of service and was a member of Brightwood Christian Church. He enjoyed playing his guitar, driving around and showing his 1957 Ford Fairlane at car shows and in parades. Survivors other than his wife, Mae include his children and their spouses, Eva and John Harrell, Alton and Marilyn Lamm, Jeanette Lamm and her fianc, Gaire Greer, Debbie and Jackie Alcon, David and Pam Lamm; 23 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, William Garland Lamm; daughter-in-law, Mary Haith Lamm; granddaughter, Christina Mae Lamm; sisters, Mozelle Johnson and Mary George; brothers, Melvin Lamm, Junior Lamm, Daniel Lamm and two infant brothers. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Brightwood Christian Church by Rev. Ricky Cox and Rev. Bruce Church; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8pm at Lowe Funeral Home and other times at the Lamm home, 264 Brightwood Church Road, Gibsonville.
