William Johnson, Sr.

William Thomas "Tommy" Johnson, Sr. 65, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC following a three year illness with two days critical. He was born September 11, 1948 in Durham County to the late Clarence Willard Johnson and Mildred Wright Dail who survives. He worked for Evans Sheet Metal in Darlington and was of the Baptist Faith. In his spare time he enjoyed playing golf. Survivors include his mother of Burlington, a son William t. Johnson, Jr. of Graham, a sister Sharon Terry Hyler of Burlington, brothers; Gregory Steven Gwynn Dail of Liberty, Donald Willard Carol Johnson of Burlington, Jerry Wayne Pam Johnson of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his father, a sister Deborah Mckeel and a step father Clarence D. Dail. The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ernest Beck. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 12:30-1:45 PM Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service and other times at his mother's home.
