William Hicks

William Thomas "Bill" Hicks, 70, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Hospice Home after a brief illness. He was born in Vance County, NC to the late Albert Fenner Hicks and Annie Lee Ayscue Hicks and was the husband to Sarah Granger Hicks for 52 years.

Bill retired after 20 years of service with Hardees Food System as their Regional Director. After his retirement he was the owner and operator of Bill's Quick Stop that he operated for 23 years before he retired and sold the store. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and his animals. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be missed dearly.

Survivors other than his wife, Sarah of the home includes a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Teresa Hicks of Mooresville, NC; daughter and son-in-law, Crystal "Cris" and Haskell Mills of Marion, NC; grandchildren, Matthew "Matt" Hicks, Allison Hicks, Hope Mills, Daniel Mills and Hannah Mills; sisters, Christine Dickerson of Henderson, NC and Gladys Westbrook of Spartanburg, SC.

The family will be at the residence. There will be no services at this time.
