William Gordon

William Billy Homer Gordon, Jr., 76, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at his home. He was born in Waynesville, NC on July 15, 1939 to the late William Dink Homer Gordon, Sr. and Wilma McCracken Gordon Shackleton and was the husband of 52 years to Sandra Lee Wilson Gordon of the home. Billy was a member of Northside Presbyterian Church and was the owner/operator of Currin and Hay Clothing Store and Gordons Fine Clothing. He served in the US Navy from 1957-1961. He is survived by his wife of the home; sons, Joel Crawford Gordon, David Edward Gordon (Tina), and H. Chad Gordon, all of Burlington; grandchildren, Brittany Gordon, Brooke Gordon, Eli Gordon and Mary Gracyn Gordon; brothers, James Shackleton, David Lee Shackleton (Diane); sister, Janet Shackleton Smith; brother-in-law, Wayne Uncle Bert Wilson and other immediate family. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00pm on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Greenhill Cemetery in Waynesville, NC, conducted by his son, Pastor David Gordon. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
