William Gauldin

Whitsett William Silas Gauldin, 85, passed away Monday, December 14, 2015 at the Beacon Place in Greensboro after two weeks of declining health. He was born in Floyd, VA to the late William Penn and Lera Peters Gauldin and was raised in Danville, VA. Silas was a retired self-employed building contractor and was a US Navy veteran in the Korean War. He was a member of Mt. Hope United Church of Christ. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Janet G. and Tom Harrelson; son and daughter-in-law, Terry S. and Beth Gauldin; grandson, Billy Pruitt and wife, Gretchen; sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Danny Gammon; several nieces and nephews. The graveside service will be held 2:30pm Friday, December 18, 2015 at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ by Pastor Josh Eller. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the daughters home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Foundation of Greater Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.
