William Crabtree

Mr. William Dallas Crabtree, 74, of 817 Stockard St., died Sunday, June 18, 2006 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a month of failing health. A native of Chatham County, he was the son of the late Dewitt Crabtree and the late Treva Gunter Crabtree and was married to Mrs. Anna Vashti Briggs Crabtree, who survives. He was retired from Leesona Inc. and was a longtime member of Glen Hope Baptist Church. Mr. Crabtree is survived by his wife of the home; a daughter, Debbie Crabtree Conner of Sanford; three sons, Larry David Crabtree and his wife, Ellen, of Bridgewater, VA, William Donald Crabtree and his wife, Rose, of Orange, VA, and Mike David Crabtree of Burlington; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Ann Bateman of Greensboro. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dewitt Chapin Crabtree. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at Glen Hope Baptist Church by the Rev. Larry Redding. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
