William Coggins

Danville, VA- William Shelton Coggins, 95, of Danville, VA, and formerly of Burlington, NC passed away on Monday October 27, 2008 after several years of failing health. He was born in Davidson County, NC to William Cicero and Ila Estelle Cline Coggins, both deceased. He was the husband of 68 years of Clara Estelle Dixon Coggins. Survivors other than his wife include one daughter, Judith Dixon Coggins Daniels and husband William "Tinker" Daniels, of Danville, VA; a son, Jeffrey Coggins and wife Alice, of Yanceyville; grandchildren: Penny Daniels Hite, Kimberly Daniels Shomali, and Hugh Blair; five great grandchildren; one brother, Jesse Coggins; and two sisters: Jettie Corriher, and Annie Lanier. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, and one brother. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday October 30, 2008 at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Delores Langley. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home.
