William Breen

William John Breen, 83, passed away Friday, June 18, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his family. Mr. Breen was born July 25, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York to the late John Thomas and Alice McKittrick Breen. William retired from Lucent Technologies/ AT&T was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church; and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, where he served as a Staff Sergeant in the Pacific Theatre. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Connie Breen of the home; three daughters, Corrie Wilson and her husband, Tom of Elon, Alice Bogle and her husband, Benton of Burlington, and Mary Elizabeth Pinaula and her husband, David of Raleigh; four sons, John Breen and his wife, Angela of Burlington, Fred Breen of Maryland, Bill Breen of Burlington, and Michael Breen of Burlington; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Jones, William Wilson, Connie Wilson, Sarah Bogle, Anita Bogle, Margaret Katherine Bogle, Mathew Breen, Caitlin Breen, and Griffin Breen. William was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Anita Breen. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by the Very Reverend Robert Benko OFM Conv., V. F. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
