William Barham

Mr. William Burch "Bill" Barham, age 79, of 141 Dogwood Dr., passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the Hospice Home after several months of failing health. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late A.B. Barham and the late Sudie M. Rorrer Barham and was married for over 32 years to Betty Jean C. Barham, who survives. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War. He was a graduate of Elon University and was retired from Glen Raven Mills with over 20 years of service. He was a member of Peoples Memorial Christian Church. Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather that loved his Lord and Savior. Mr. Barham is survived by his wife of the home; a daughter, Kathy Barham Freeman of Greensboro; a son, William B. Barham II of Julian; four step sons, Randy Clapp and his companion, Carol, of Gibsonville, Timothy Clapp and his wife, Nancy, of Elon, Michael Clapp and his wife, Debbie, of Burlington and Jeff Clapp of Elon; twelve grandchildren, William B. Barham III, Alex, Aaron, Zach, Ben, Matt, Jake, Andy, Dusty, Jessica, Michael and Kari; a brother, Robert L. Barham and his wife, Betsy, of Cary; and his special pet, "Missy". He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard Barham and Don Barham. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Peoples Memorial Christian Church by Rev. John Shields. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215 or to Peoples Memorial Christian Church, 247 N.
