Willard Cobb

Mebane, NC Willard Cleo Cobb, age 85, of 2631 South Jim Minor Road went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at Edgewood Place. He was a native of Alamance County and the husband of the late Virginia Laughter Cobb. Willard was a building contractor operating his own construction business for many years and he retired from Best Feed and Farm Supply. He was a mason with the Thomas M. Holt Lodge # 492 and of the Primitive Baptist faith. Willard was a veteran serving with the US Army Air corps during WW II. He was an avid Beagler and a member of the Beagler Hall of Fame. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, W. Ty and Debbie Cobb of Burlington; daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Bill Giese of Oak Island, NC and Donna and Mike Sutton of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren, Xan Hunter, Lewis Zachary, III, Christopher Ty Spuddy Cobb and Jeff Sutton; three great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Vertie and Clarence Billings of Burlington, Hazel and Mickey Crouse of Burlington and Faye and Bobby Overman of Graham; brother and sister-in-law, Elmo and Shirley Cobb of Snow Camp, NC. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, Allie Steven and Ginny Lee Page Cobb; grandson, Stacy Sutton. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurse practioner and all the staff of Edgewood Place for their kind and compassionate care of Willard. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Alamance Memorial Park by Pastor Larry Lamberth.
