Wilbert Ray Will Pickard, 81, of Rogers Court went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 12, 2005 at the Hospice Home. He Was a native of Alamance County and the son of the late Floyd Luther and Mary Kate Fogleman Pickard. Wilbert retired from A T & T working primarily at the Guilford Center after 34 years. He served in the US Army Aircopr during WW II serving with the 486th Bomb Group in the European Theatre. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of Amerca and the Thomas M. Holt Masonic Lodge #292. Wilbert played golf for many years with the Sandhill Seniors and Alamance Seniors. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Flynt Dot Pickard of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Alan Graham of Burlington; grandsons, Jeremy Alan and Brennan Michael Graham; sister-in-law, Anna Nick Pickard of Graham. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Kendall, Max and Gene Pickard. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum and the family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Mausoleum. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory are handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
