Wendy Pope Jordan, 56, went home to be with the lord unexpectedly on Thursday, October 28th. She was a native of Alamance County. She was born on January 11th, 1965, to the late Terry Pope and surviving Jean Boudreau. She was the wife to Ken Jordan.
Wendy was a beloved and faithful member of Westside Fellowship Church. As a born-again Christian, Wendy shared her faith and beliefs with the youth and co-workers through out her career. As a devoted Christian she, spent time developing, mentoring, and guiding the youth of the community through programs such as Girls with Pearls, BPD Explorer, fundraising, and substituting as a teacher with ABSS.
Wendy retired from BPD after 30 years of service where she was a Patrol Supervisor, Detective and an SRO Supervisor. Wendy also always pushed herself to be better as she studied and received her bachelor’s degree. In her spare time, she enjoyed making people smile through her crafts. Wendy loved spending time in her “she shed” making candles and wood burning. However, Wendy Greatest joy came when she was with her family.
She is survived by her husband Ken Jordan. Mother Jean Boudreau, husband Chuck. Son Cameron Smith, wife Cierra. Daughter Angela Eumana, husband Jose. Brothers Tim Pope, wife Becky, Shane Lowe, wife Janelle, Dale Alvis, Sisters Lisa Spencer, husband Tony, Teresa Milks, husband Greg. Grandchildren Mariah, Chloe, Victor and Austin
She is preceded in death by her father Terry Lee Pope and Grandmothers Lena Lockemy and Louise Pope
Wendy was very proud of her son and her granddaughters were her pride and joy.
She will be remembered not only for her beautiful crafts, but also her smile and friendliness. She never met a stranger. She was a remarkable woman and will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, November 4th at Lowes Funeral Home on S. Church St. in Burlington, by Pastor Howard Thompson and Pastor Jacob Danieley. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Lowes Funeral Home from 5-7 on Wednesday, November 3rd.
