Wendy Cox

Wendy Murphy Cox, 47, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Hospice Home. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Clinton and Mary Lou Brown Murphy. Wendy was a longtime member of Staley Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, and her dog, "Scrappy". Survivors include her daughters, Kelly Cox and fianc, Chris Smith of Burlington and Amanda Cox of Burlington; sons, Kevin Cox and fianc, Ashley Cordle of Elon and Dennis Cox and fianc, Amy Huskey of Burlington; grandchildren, Kadence Cox, Kaley Cox and Khloe Cox; brothers, Edward "Eddie" Murphy and wife, Janice of Mebane and Wendell Murphy and wife, Ginger of Burlington and a sister, LuAnne Stacey of Elon. She is preceded in death by her parents. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Staley Memorial Baptist Church by Pastor Bennie Smith and Rev. Gary Yeatts with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
