Welford Max Bower

Welford Max Bower, 90, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.  He was born on June 17, 1929 in Roanoke County, VA to the late Harold Eugene Bower and Teresa Sawyer Bower, and was the husband to Susan Anderson Bower of 70 years who survives.

Max and Susan moved from the Pinewood Community in Asheboro to Gibsonville in 2011. Max retired after 38 years with Paschal & Associates in Asheboro.  He enjoyed woodworking, genealogy and landscaping his yard.

Survivors other than his wife, Susan Anderson Bower include a son, Steven Bower and wife, Karen Chapple; a daughter, Cherie Bower; grandchildren, Neil Bower and wife, Megan; Brook Bower and Avril Bower and wife, Lauren; great grandchildren, Sophie Bower, Sawyer Bower and August Bower; several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Eugene, Gerald, Donald and Bobby Bower.

The celebration of life service will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to your favorite charities in memory of Max Bower.
