Wayne Tate

Wayne Rankin Tate, 84 went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Alamance Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.  He was born in Alamance County on March 12, 1937 to the late John Birch and Ethel Whitesell Tate and was the husband of 49 years to the late Geraldine Adkins Tate.

Wayne was a lifetime member of Bethlehem Christian Church where he served on the Men’s Fellowship.  He enjoyed hunting, gardening and trips to White Lake.

Survivors include his twin daughters, Sharon and Karen Tate; son, Keith Tate and wife Melinda; grandchildren, Stephanie Taylor and husband Cody, Kelsie Tate and wife Ashley, Jacob Carwile; nephews, Benny McBane and wife Valerie, Chris Tate, Jeff Tate and wife April and brother, Dale Frank Tate. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, Infant Tate; sister, Judy Tate McBane and a brother, Carter Tate.

A service to celebrate Wayne’s life will be held 2:00pm on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Bethlehem Christian Church with the burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:45-1:45 prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
