Wayne Massey

Wayne Franklin Massey, age 78, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 6, 2013. He was a native of Caswell County and the husband of 57 years to Nancy Robertson Massey who survives. He was the son of the late John Robert and Ethel Page Massey. Wayne retired after 30 years with Trials End Apartments. He was a member of Altamahaw Baptist Church and was an avid Nascar fan. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife of the home; daughter, Sherry Pyrant and husband, Andrew of Leasburg, NC and a son, Gary Massey and wife, Wendy of Durham; grandson, Caleb Lee Massey and a step grandson, Andrew Steven Pyrant ; brother, J.R. Massey and wife, Sylvia of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Nicholas Wayne Massey and a granddaughter, Helen Elizabeth Massey; sisters, Lois Rainey and Verly Coleman; brothers, Rev. Felton Massey and Wallace Massey. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 11:00 am at Altamahaw Baptist Church by Dr. Steve Tucker and assisted by Rev. Joe Seay. The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Monday, July 8th at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
