Wayne Edwards

Burlington-Wayne Edwards, age 75, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015 at ARMC. He was the son of the late Raymond Atlas and Viola Stinson Edwards. Wayne was employed for several years with Glen Raven Mills and later retired from GE. He enjoyed working and spent the past several years in a professional cleaning business with his son. He was of the Baptist faith and he enjoyed cooking especially Christmas dinners for his family. Survivors include his daughter, Terri Light and husband, Tim of Burlington; son, Ricky Wayne Edwards of Burlington; grandchildren, Shane Melissa Light, Michael Tiffany Light, Derek Edwards and fiance, Taylor Brandon, and Blake Edwards; great grandchildren, Nathan Light and Buddy Light. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Carol Howerton, Aleen Roach and Dorothy Mae Edwards; brother, Jimmy Edwards. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 11:00 am at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Jefferson David Atwater and the burial will follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. There will be a visitation and reception for family and friends from 6-8pm on Thursday at the funeral home and other times the family will be at the home of his son, Ricky Edwards.
