Waltzie Hicks

Burlington – Waltzie Leroy Hicks, Sr., 82 passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at his home.  He was born in Orange County on August 6, 1937 to the late Jessie Hicks and Naomi Mae Andrews Foust and was the husband of 40 years to the late Kay Hill Hicks.

Waltzie enjoyed woodworking and loved spending time with his kids and grandkids.

Survivors include his daughters, Cheryl Hicks Scott (Hezekiah), Wendy Poole; grandsons, Kyle Scott (Destiny), Brandon McAdams, Barry McAdams, Jr., Kevin Michael Poole, Jr.; granddaughters, Brittany Loyd (John), Danielle Hicks, Jennifer Porter; twelve great grandchildren; brother, Jerry Foust (Kay) and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, daughters, Lee Dawn McAdams, Shirley Hicks; sons, Waltzie Hicks, Jr., Dale Hicks, Donald Hicks; brothers, Bill and Donald Hicks and sisters, Jessie Finley, Virginia Bush and Bessie Underwood.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Faith Baptist Church, 2232 Pinecroft Dr. in Burlington.  The family will receive friends at the home.
