Walter Gerringer, Jr.

Walter Baxter Junebug Gerringer, Jr., 75, of 5558 NC 87 N., died in his sleep on September, 19, 2005 at his home after three years of failing health. A native of Caswell County he was the son of the late Walter Baxter Gerringer, Sr. and the late Sadie Styers Gerringer. He was formerly employed with Burlington Industries at the Mayflair Plant and then later worked for Levin Brothers Inc. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army and served during the Korean War. He attended Bethlehem Christian Church and loved fishing , gardening, and racing. Mr. Gerringer is survived by three daughters, Debbie Ann King of the home, Teresa Gerringer Smith and her husband, Tim, of Elon, and Dawn Gerringer of Gibsonville; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Geynell Madren and her husband, Harold, of Gibsonville; brother-in-law, Archie Setzer; several special nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Polly Barker. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Blanche Setzer. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dave Gilbert and the Rev. Kevin Bunn. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home and other times at the home of Geynell Madren, 5666 NC 87 N., Gibsonville.
