Gibsonville, NC Walter Donald Faulkner, age 84, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at White Oak Manor after several months of failing health. Over the years, Donald was a painter and maintenance worker at Alamance County Hospitals and a hospital in Fayetteville, NC as well as the A T & T building in Greensboro, NC. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Faulkner of Charlotte and a son, Donald Faulkner also of Charlotte; two grandchildren; brothers, James and John Faulkner both of Burlington and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Wilma Faulkner, sisters, Edith F. Berry, Mary Dell Chambers and Josephine Brown; brother, Deuvoy Faulkner. Donald's niece, Norma Berry Moore, appreciates all the loving care and attentiveness shown to her uncle by White Oak Manor, the Hospice Home, and Liberty Commons. A very special "thank you" to the Wilson family at C and M Adult Care where Donald lived for17 years. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Friday at Pine Hill Cemetery by Rev. Bennie Smith. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory.
