Wade Pembleton Porter, 86, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Alamance County, he was the son ofthe late Frank Pembleton Porter and Mamie Lee Russell Porter and was married to Ethelene Ray Porter, who passed in 2017.
Wade retired after many years from the textile industry where he fixed their machines. He enjoyed working but in his free time loved to go fishing, camping and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Wade will be remembered by his family for his quick wit and sense of humor.
He is survived by his children; Lisa Mock and husband, Michael and Bill Porter and wife, Pam, grandchildren; Mandy Coffin and husband Bo, Michael Solomon and significant other, Krista Maddox, Henry Solomon and wife Nikki, Bruce Solomon, Brandon Solomon and significant other Morgan Lacks,Mikaela Mock, Samantha Mock, Stephanie Corretier – Porter, Madison Porter and significant other, Cameron Wicker and Keith Poole and his wife, Stephanie. Wade is also survived by his great grandchildren; Tristian Coffin, Mikey Solomon, Hayleigh Solomon, River Solomon, Haley Harrell, Ayden Solomon, Logan Solomon, Emely, Ellah, and Everly Solomon, Georgia Solomon, Esme Clymer, Waylon Wicker and Braedon Poole as well as his siblings; Jimmy Porter and wife, Judy, Pete Porter and his wife, Pat, and a special niece, Julie Porter.
Wade was preceded in death by his wife; Ethelene Porter, parents; Frank and Mamie Russell Porter, two sisters and two brothers.
A funeral to celebrate Wade’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 5, 2023 in the chapel at Lowe Funeral Home by Rev. Mark Robertson with the entombment to follow in the Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 Thursday, January 4, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cone Health Cancer Center at Alamance Regional, or Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehab Center of Alamance County.
