Virginia Ogden

Burlington, NC Virginia Brooks Bryant Ogden, age 71, died on Monday, October 2, 2006 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Carroll County, Virginia and the daughter of the late Jonathan Byrd and Susie Mabe Bryant. Brooks was a former employee of Bennett Hosiery in Gibsonville and a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints the Burlington Ward. Survivors include her sisters, Louise Bryant of Burlington, Genevieve B. Barnes and her husband, Grady of Franklinton and Christine Massey of Yanceyville; brother, Marshall Bryant and his wife, Hilda of Burlington and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Elizabeth Caroline Bryant, Gladys Poteat, Ruby Bryant and infant sister, Helen Marie Bryant. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 5, 2006 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by Bishop Michael Doyle. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence, 1526 Granville Street. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Fast Offering Fund, 712 S. Williamson Avenue, Elon, NC 27244.
