Virginia Oakley

Virginia Walker Oakley, 91, formerly of Woodland Ave. of Burlington passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Hospice Home. A native of Caswell County, she was married 71 years to the late Charlie B. Oakley who died in 2012, and was the daughter of the late James and Carrie Walker. She was employed by The Times News for many years and later by Lab Corp. Virginia was a longtime member of Beverly Hills United Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughters, Faye Oakley of Burlington and Joye O. Massey and husband Johnny of Norfolk, VA; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers. A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. Jim Owen and Dr . Dace Lewis.
