Virginia Huffine

Virginia Walker Huffine, 86, of Elon-Ossipee Rd., died on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Hospice Home after two years of failing health and a three week critical illness. She was a recent resident of Cedar Ridge Retirement Center and Blakey Hall. Mrs. Huffine was born in Rockingham County to the late Charles Hawkins and Maggie Gallimore Walker and was married to the late Dwight Milton Huffine, Sr. She retired from Holt Hosiery after many years of service. She is survived by her grandsons, Charles Dwight "Chad" Robin Huffine of Haw River and Gregg Alvin Shannon Huffine of Gibsonville; great grandchildren, Holly Huffine, Holden Huffine and Noah Huffine; daughter-in-law, Stroud Noah Huffine of Gibsonville; a sister, Garnet Oscar McCollum of Reidsville and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Dwight Milton Huffine, Jr., brothers, Charles Ragland Walker, Hal Hedrick Walker and W. Winford Walker and a sister, Rachel J. Walker. The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Mike Mitchener with interment to follow in Gilliam's Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 Monday evening at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter-in-law, Stroud Huffine, 3838 Gilliam Church Rd., Gibsonville.
