Virginia Brown

Virginia Naomi Simpson Brown, 81 of 7927 Troxler Mill Road went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at her home. A native of Caswell County, she was the daughter of John and Mamie Gwyn Simpson and the wife of the late George Van Brown. Virginia was a member of Apple's Chapel Christian Church and the Helping Hands Sunday school class. She enjoyed spending time with and taking trips with the seniors at the church and she enjoyed quilting. She was a great homemaker and farmer and the best mother and grandmother you could ever have. She is survived by her daughters, Carol Chrismon and her husband Melvin, Charlotte Siler and her husband Tony; sons and daughters-in-laws, Johnny Brown and Yvonda, and Rickey Brown and Lori Moore; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister, Frances Elizabeth Simpson, and a brother, Edward Simpson. The funeral service will be held 4:00pm Friday, March 7, 2008 at Apple's Chapel Christian Church by Rev. C. Allen Myers and Rev. Tim Geiger. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Thursday at Apple's Chapel Christian Church and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Apple's Chapel Congregational Nursing Program or Tape Ministry, 7345 NC 61 North, Gibsonville, NC 27249. The family would like to convey a special thank you to Rev. Allen Myers, Sheri Jones, Hospice of Greensboro, family and friends for the many acts of kindness shown to them.
