Virginia Miller Bostic of Stoney Creek Church Road, Burlington followed in the footsteps of her beloved husband of 64 years, Norwood Bostic, to be with their Risen Lord and Savior, Jesus of Nazareth on Saturday, December 31, 2016. She transitioned to the heavenly host of witnesses in restful peace after a very brief period of suffering. She passed from death to life with the same grace she lived each day.
She will be remembered as a caring sister and Aunt to her family from Dublin County and "Down ast". Among the many others, she will be greeted in life by her parents Jim and Kina as well as three of her sisters; Elizabeth, Margaret and Jean and her brothers William and James.
She was a faithful and devoted wife to "Woody", the husband of her youth, a consistent and adoring mother to her son and daughter in love. She was a Grandmother who gloried in her 3 grandchildren. They never left her thoughts and prayers.
She was a gifted artist with both the brush and the stitch, a prolific giver of gifts and exceptional cook to the many friends who crossed her path over the 4 decades she made Alamance County her home. Her homemade bread was the stuff of legends among the many beneficiaries of her giving.
As a result of Norwood's Navy career, after 1944, she spent time abroad in both Germany after the war and Turkey during the 1950's. There was a stay in Norfolk, Virginia before settling back in their beloved North Carolina home in 1968.
Those who knew her will testify she had a deep, abiding faith in God's Son, Jesus. She lived her faith in daily prayer, reading the truth of God's Word and deep commitment to her church family at Stoney Creek Presbyterian Church.
Ginny is survived by her son William, daughter in love Joanne, and the grandchildren Jason, Samuel and Victoria, Rebecca and Craig Brady as well as her sister Martha Sutton of Warsaw. In addition she was blessed with an extended family of nephews and nieces she shared much love with.
Through her example, she showed me the way to the cross. All those whose lives have been touched by her simple, consistent faith have seen Christianity lived. Heaven is filled with rejoicing today, one of their choice servants has arrived home. Our loss is heaven's gain. To God be the glory for honoring the promise she lived by, that "He would never leave her nor forsake her. " Hebrews 13:5.
