Virginia Baker

Virginia Murray Baker of Snow Camp died on Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Hospice Home in Burlington. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late E. A. Murray and Bertha Isley Murray. She was a graduate of E.M. Holt High School and retired from the textile industry. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Survivors include a son, Johnny Baker of Snow Camp; two grandchildren, Jill Baker of Atlanta, GA and Julie Skinner and husband, Jim of Cullman, AL; and two great grandchildren, Jordan and Jesse Skinner. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by three brothers, Bascom "Bass" Murray, Jim H. Murray, and Winfred "Duck' Murray. A graveside service will be conducted at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Nathan Hooks officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church parlor. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2719 Bellemont- Alamance Rd. Burlington, NC 27215; or to the Hospice Home, 918 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215.
