Virgil Fear

Little River – Virgil Miles Fear, 76, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 18, 2020.  He was born in Alamance County on August 9, 1943 to the late Oscar and Daisy Fear and was the husband of Dinah Marie Fear of the home.

Virgil was a US Army Veteran who proudly served during the Vietnam era.  He was a Hall of Fame Shag dancer winning several championships throughout his career and was an avid UNC Tarheel fan.  He enjoyed visiting the inlet near his home where he would take walks, swing on the porch and play fetch with his dog, “Charley”.  Virgil was a loving and compassionate man who will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Dinah; step son, John Plessinger and wife Katie; grandchildren, Emma and Faith Madison Plessinger and a brother, Mark Fear.

A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00pm on Monday, January 27, 2020 at Pine Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
