Virgil Cox

Gibsonville Virgil Stewart Cox, 79, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born in Grayson County, VA to the late Wright Stewart Cox and the late Luvenia Burnette Cox and was the husband to Minnie Bowers Cox who survives. Virgil retired from Copeland Fabrics. Survivors include his wife of 60 years Minnie Bowers Cox of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Shirley Ann Cox of Savannah, GA; grandsons, Daniel Stewart Cox and Christopher Allen Cox; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Viola Lineberry of Woodlawn, VA and Ruthie Lineberry of Galax, VA; brothers, John Wayne Cox of Copperas Cove, TX and Carroll Wayne Cox of Galax, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two infant sisters. The graveside service will be held today, May 16, 2013 at 2:00pm at Alamance Memorial Park by Pastor Darrell Massey. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 1:30pm today prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home.
