Violet Lockhart

Violet Combs Lockhart, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.  She was born in War, WV to the late John Franklin and Georgia Pruitt Combs and was the wife of 66 years to the late Paul Lockhart.

She was a longtime member of Harvest Hills Church of God where she taught Sunday school for 45 years and was head of the children’s program for over 10 years. She loved flowers, gardening and her cat Penney.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy C. Lockhart, Paulette Edwards and Sandy McHann (Keith); grandchildren, Brooke Redus (Perry) and Joel Edwards; great grandchildren, Nick and Austin Wylie and a brother, Howard Combs (Faye).

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Harvest Hills Church of God by Dr. Russell Morris and Dr. Bob Gilley with entombment to follow in Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum.  The family will receive friends from 11:45-12:45 Wednesday prior to the service at the church and other times at the residence.
