Mrs. Violet ‘Ann’ Hallaji, age 62, of Elon, NC, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Hospice Home of Burlington after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Annapolis, MD, Ann was the daughter of the late Violet Lawson Hill. She is survived by her devoted husband, Nasser Hallaji, whom she shared 42 beautiful years of marriage. Ann leaves behind two daughters, Sheema Hallaji (Curtis Cribben) and Shareh Hallaji (Wali Danish), along with cherished grandchildren Cyrus Cribben and Leila Danish. She is also remembered fondly by three sisters, Sue Markovic (Joe), Beth Bandy-Pilgrim, and Linda Lipscomb, and two brothers, Donald Hill (Gina) and Larry Hill (Lisa), as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Ann was proceeded in death by her mother and granddaughter, Amira Cribben.
For more than 35 years, Ann devoted her life to the field of nursing, serving at County Hospital, Memorial Hospital, and then Cone Health Alamance Regional Medical Center (ARMC). Her primary focus through her nursing career was in labor and delivery and she concluded her professional journey in same day surgery at ARMC. Her passion extended beyond her profession, embracing travel, hiking, running, puzzles and reading. Ann’s compassionate nature, delightful sense of humor, and love for family and friends endeared her to all who knew her.
