Vincent Corsini, 98, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Twin Lakes Retirement Center. He was born on July 4, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Gaetano Thomas Corsini and Milagros Moreno-Yumet Corsini, and was the husband of 59 years to the late Elizabeth Jean Junkins Corsini who died in 2021.
Vincent was a retired draftsman who formerly helped invent and worked with Otis Elevators. He attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where he belonged to the Knights of Columbus, and was really active at Twin Lakes Retirement Community. Vincent was a decorated WWII US Veteran who served at Normandy on D-Day and received the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his service. He was a talented art painter, an accomplished organist and an excellent woodworker. Vincent has several of his wood pieces at Twin Lakes. He loved traveling with Elizabeth, enjoyed drawing, flying his plane and listening to music. Vincent was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and a dear friend who will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his daughters, Linda Gentry and husband Bruce, Carol Weinheimer, Paula Muller and husband Robert; grandchildren, Michelle (Charles) Cash, Robert (Crystal) Gentry, Christine (Ryan) Kirby, Jessica (Mike) Andretta and Teresa (Aaron Brady) Muller; 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson; a brother, William “Bill” Corsini; sisters, Ann Corsini and Olympia Vogel; and several nieces and nephews. Vincent was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, parents, a son-in-law, Richard Weinheimer, and his siblings, Olga Danelius, Mary Seminara, Edward “Ed” Corsini, Thomas “Tommy” Corsini and Louis Corsini.
The funeral mass will be held at 12 Noon Monday, May 8, 2023 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Father Peter Tempo with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 11:45am Monday at the church prior to the service.
