Vilda Irby

Mebane-Vilda Brewer Irby, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 29, 2018.
She was born in Galax, Virginia to the late Eli Paul and Ruby Osborne Brewer. She was the wife of the late Avery Bennett Irby, Sr. who died in 2006.
Vilda was a member of Peoples Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her daughters, Shelby Lipscomb of Burlington, Tammy Kernodle and husband, Richard, of Moncure; a son, Avery Irby, Jr. and wife, Tracy, of Mebane; special grandson, Jeff Ray Lipscomb; grandchildren, Nina Lipscomb, Junior Lipscomb, Ben Lipscomb, Tony Lipscomb, Andy Lipscomb, Isaac Irby and Lisa Kernodle; a great grandchild, Mary Elizabeth; a sister, Nina Moore and husband, James, of Sutherland, VA; and a brother, Larry Brewer and wife, Wanda, of Danville, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and three sisters, Thelma Haskins, Mildred Barker and Margie Wiggins.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane by Rev. James Christopher. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 pm prior to the services at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
