Vera Miller

Vera Winona McMahan Miller, 90, passed away Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. Vera was born in Greenville, SC to the late Henry Grady McMahan and Anne Sarah Tate McMahan and was married to the late Dan ONeil Miller, Sr. who died in 2014. Vera was the former owner and dance instructor with Vera Miller Dance and Kindergarten School. She was a member of Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church in Haw River. Survivors include her daughter, Sara Babcock; sons, Dan Miller, Jr. and James "Jim" Miller; grandchildren, Trulia Shields, Richard Babcock, Jr., Jennifer Miller, Nickalus "Nick" Miller, Crystal Ball and Robert Marsh; great grandchildren, Xandria Shields, Tristan Shields, Jacob Babcock, Henry Babcock, Sydnee Marsh, Ayden Ball and Carson Ball; brother, Louis McMahan. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, Gwynn Finney and Mary Rosell; and brother, Joe McMahan. The funeral service will be held at 11:00am Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church by Rev. Miriam Saxon with the burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W.
