Vera Ingle

Vera Self Ingle, 91, formerly of Wildwood Lane passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the Hospice Home. She was married for 67 years to the late William Glenn "Bill" Ingle and was born December 19, 1919 in Alamance County to the late Robert Lee Self, Sr. and the late Lula Sumner Self. Vera had retired from Burlington Industries after many years of service and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Elon. She had attended and played the piano for the Men's bible Class and was a member of United Methodist Women. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Self of Locust, NC, grandchildren; Telly Wade and Jennifer Sexton, Adrian Aaron and Sonya Sexton, Jade and Ryan Jones, great grandchildren; Alex Christopher Thomas, Skylar Grace Sexton, Graham Wade Sexton, Laken Faith Sexton, William Joseph Sexton, a brother Norman and Joan Self of Atlanta, GA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters; Flora May Self, Grace Mooneyham, Helen Butler, Esther Blanchard, Rosa Hayes and a brother R. L. Self, Jr. The funeral will be held 11:30 AM Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ron Ridley, Aaron Sexton and Charles Pyles. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10:15 11:15 AM prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pleasant Plains Baptist Church Fund, 3316 Pleasant Plains Rd., Matthews, NC 28105 or Above & Beyond Family Care, 1616 E. Webb Ave., Burlington, NC 27217.
