Vanda Kay Bowman Boggs

Vanda Kay Boggs, 82, adoring mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023. Vanda Kay was born June 8, 1940 to the late Van Lindley Bowman and the late Kathleen Foster Bowman. In 1959, she married Harold Dean Boggs, beloved husband of 63 years.

Vanda Kay retired from AT&T/Lucent Technologies after more than 32 years of employment. She was a lifelong, active member of Union Ridge Church. She lived her life in service to others and took great pride in the Union Ridge community. She gave her love so joyously to everyone she knew and in turn, she felt the love and care from so many family, friends, and neighbors. She was most passionate about her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In fact, she embraced all children with unconditional love.

Vanda Kay is survived by her husband, Harold Dean Boggs of the home; a brother, Mac (Sue) Bowman of Burlington; a son, Gary (Donna) Boggs of Burlington, a daughter Vanessa (Charles) Surles of High Point; four grandchildren, Erin Boggs, Laura Boggs, Megan (Ben) Calhoun, and Michael Surles; and six great grandchildren. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Union Ridge Church by Rev. Dan Ficklin. There will be a reception for family and friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
